An international and transparent image: When DEG, a major government-owned investment bank serving the private sector in developing countries, needed a new headquarters building sop | architekten created this modern office building, bringing together staff from three previous sites, in Cologne city centre to reflect the company’s fundamental values in an urban space.

Emerged from a design competition, this seven-storey structure embodies a clear and compelling architectural concept and is centred on a multifunctional atrium covered by a sliding glass roof. This contemporary and sustainable office building was awarded with the DGNB Platin Seal of Quality after its completion in 2008 for the comprehensive energy concept commissioned by this committed and socially responsible client.
