• EQUILO

Deutzer Feld is a former railway site between the Cologne districts of Deutz and Kalk, two old industrial quarters currently being transformed for a new age. Situated on the right bank of the Rhine, the area enjoys good connections to both the city and the surrounding region and airport. It will see the arrival of a mix of new developments ranging from a university to hotels and from residential to office use. The EQUILO project successfully reflects the fine balance this new district has set out to achieve.

Standing at the apex of Deutzer Feld, the office building cuts a striking figure whilst blending harmoniously into its surroundings. To achieve this effect, sop | architekten chose a pale limestone-coloured ashlar façade that ensures an energetically high-performance yet cost-efficient building envelope. An interior courtyard provides an additional meeting area, while spacious roof terraces offer views across to the other side of the Rhine. Inside EQUILO, the five rental units on each floor can be interconnected, offering space for a wide range of contemporary office forms.
